Website Development and copywriting for a personal trainer and boutique gym owner

Steve Sheppard had already established himself under his Performance 360 brand as a highly respected personal trainer and private gym owner. He got in touch to help take his business to the next level by commissioning us to develop a new membership website. The site needed to provide Steve’s clients with a portal where they could access nutritional information, personal training videos and meal plans.

Strong Brand IdentityWith Engaging Content & Imagery

We first visited Steve at his gym to get a full sense of his service offering. As Performance 360 was already a successful business with a strong social media presence, the brand identity had already been established; this just needed to be mirrored throughout the new website.

We already had a good foundation of creative material, as Steve recently had a photography shoot for the gym, as well as a promotional video produced. This gave us the opportunity to quickly put together a series of wireframes for approval.

With twelve pages in total, the website required us to produce additional photography that would complement the original photo shoot. For continuity, these were then edited to match the original imagery supplied by Steve.

For the membership aspect of the website, we needed something extremely easy to use for the client once we had handed everything over. Ultimate Membership Pro is a great plugin for WordPress websites and allowed for the future expansion of subscription and payment options.

dark-themed website design with a high-contrast accent

In a very competitive market, engaging with the user is paramount, especially within the fitness industry. After sitting down with Steve and discussing his ethos for Performance 360, we decided that the copy should emphasise the benefits of his personal training and gym, rather than focus on features. Emphasis was placed on solving a potential client’s problem.

A dark theme was chosen, not only to tie in with the original branding but to encourage users to engage with the website content for longer periods of time. A darker website colour palette tends to have less strain on the eyes when, whilst allowing the opportunity for high-contrast call-to-actions.
