Case Study: Social Action Hub – Third Sector Community Impact Marketing Campaign
Marketing Support
Social Action Hub – Third Sector Community Impact Marketing Campaign
Strategic marketing campaign and brand development for Social Action Hub – A community-focused charity tackling food insecurity, supporting vulnerable families and building confidence in young people within Nottinghamshire.
About The Social Action Hub
Social Action Hub is a vital community organisation dedicated to empowering local communities and creating sustainable change. With an impressive track record of redistributing 135.3 tonnes of food in the last 12 months alone, they serve over 40% of vulnerable individuals in their community through their innovative Social Supermarket model and comprehensive support services.
The organisation goes beyond food redistribution, offering youth provision, education and skills development, health and wellbeing initiatives, and community events. Their work directly supports 1,060 beneficiaries, including 572 children, while preventing 67.65 tonnes of CO2 emissions – equivalent to the annual energy use of 25 UK homes.
The Challenge: Amplifying Community Impact
Social Action Hub approached Caroline Cox Marketing with a clear vision: they needed to raise awareness about their extraordinary community impact and attract the funding necessary to support their growth journey. Despite their remarkable achievements – including a 63% increase in food redistribution and capturing 27% of the food redistribution market share in Nottinghamshire – their story wasn’t reaching the stakeholders who could help amplify their impact.
The organisation needed branded assets, structured marketing strategies, and a comprehensive PR campaign to showcase their diverse services, from youth programmes to their innovative Social Supermarket model.
Our Strategic Approach
Understanding the Mission and Impact
Caroline Cox Marketing’s approach began with deeply understanding Social Action Hub’s multifaceted impact. We recognised that this wasn’t just about food redistribution – it was about dignity, choice, environmental sustainability, and community resilience. Our strategy needed to capture the full spectrum of their work while highlighting the impressive statistics that demonstrated their effectiveness.
Creating Compelling Brand Assets
We developed branded marketing materials that could serve as powerful tools for stakeholder engagement. These assets were designed to clearly communicate the organisation’s impact metrics, from the 135.3 tonnes of food saved to the 10,950-14,600 people supported annually through their Social Supermarket.
Structured Marketing Strategy and Website Development
A comprehensive marketing structure was created to support their growth objectives. This included:
- Strategic messaging framework highlighting their unique community impact
- Website content strategy and site mapping for developer execution
- Clear positioning that emphasised both their social and environmental benefits
- Stakeholder engagement tools designed to attract funding and support.
Comprehensive PR Campaign
The PR campaign was designed to showcase the breadth of Social Action Hub’s services – from youth provision to their Social Supermarket model. We focused on communicating how their work addresses root causes of vulnerability while providing immediate, practical support to families in need.

Outstanding Results
Media Coverage and Awareness
The campaign achieved significant media attention, with Social Action Hub being featured across East Midlands news channels. Media outlets were immediately engaged by the unique scale and impact of their community work, recognising the 63% year-on-year growth in food redistribution and their significant environmental contribution.
Increased Community Engagement
Following the campaign launch, Social Action Hub experienced increased usage of their services and greater community awareness of their comprehensive support offerings. The enhanced visibility helped more vulnerable individuals and families access the support they needed.
Stakeholder Engagement and Funding Opportunities
The structured marketing approach and compelling brand assets successfully attracted stakeholder attention, creating new opportunities for funding and partnership development. The campaign established a sustainable framework for ongoing marketing activities to support their self-sustainable business model.
Long-term Marketing Infrastructure
Beyond immediate results, the project created lasting marketing infrastructure that Social Action Hub can continue to leverage for ongoing stakeholder engagement and community outreach.

Bespoke Website Development for Urban Joinery
Case Study
New Website Design For
Urban Joinery – A Domestic and Commercial Joinery and Carpentry Business
Urban Joinery is a well-established joinery and carpentry company based in Mansfield Woodhouse, known for delivering high-quality domestic and commercial services. With years of experience, they have gained a reputation for craftsmanship, attention to detail, and reliability. Their team of skilled joiners and carpenters work on projects ranging from home renovations to large-scale commercial developments.
Raising the Business Profile
Urban Joinery was looking to update their outdated website to better reflect the quality of service they offer, as well as to better showcase their extensive experience in both domestic and commercial joinery projects. The old website, built on PHP, was not mobile optimised and used stock images and generic content that didn’t truly represent the company’s growth, capabilities, or professionalism. They needed a website that would enhance their brand’s image and act as a powerful tool to engage with potential clients.
We started by understanding Urban Joinery’s core values, services, and target audience. This step allowed us to create a digital solution that aligned with their goals and communicated the expertise behind their work. A key part of our approach was to understand their business history, the range of services they offer, and how they wanted to be perceived by their audience. This collaborative process resulted in the creation of bespoke content that reflected the domestic and commercial projects they specialise in.
What Does Our Onboarding Process Involve?
Creating the Optimised and Bespoke Content
The first step was to create a user-friendly, visually appealing website that was optimised for mobile devices – a crucial feature given the increasing number of mobile users. We updated the design, replacing stock images with high-quality photos of Urban Joinery’s actual work, showcasing their craftsmanship and attention to detail. The content was reworked to provide a clear and engaging narrative of the company’s services, values, and expertise. We focused on making the content easy to read, ensuring that the website communicated professionalism, trust, and capability across all industries they serve.
We also added sections to highlight the specific services Urban Joinery offers in both the domestic and commercial sectors, with detailed case studies and client testimonials to build trust and credibility. Regular updates, including blog posts, will ensure the site remains fresh, relevant, and aligned with Urban Joinery’s ongoing projects.
Website Optimisation and Functionality
We implemented a modern, mobile-friendly design to ensure visitors could easily navigate the website on any device. We integrated clear calls to action to help convert website traffic into enquiries, as well as an easy-to-use contact form. SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) strategies were employed to ensure Urban Joinery’s website ranked well on search engines, driving organic traffic and visibility.
The Outcome
The newly designed website for Urban Joinery not only offered a visually engaging and functional experience but also gave the company a platform to reflect their brand’s true value. The site now serves as a marketing tool that reflects the company’s high standards, offering easy navigation, optimised design for mobile users, and accurate, on-brand content. The website has helped Urban Joinery stand out in a competitive market, allowing potential clients to easily understand the range of services they offer, view past projects, and engage with the company.
Our Clients Experience
“Working with Caroline Cox Marketing to redesign our website has been an incredible experience. The team took the time to understand our business, our values, and our goals, and this resulted in a website that truly represents who we are as a company. The new website has not only improved the user experience for our clients but has also helped us attract new business by showcasing our work and expertise. We’re extremely pleased with the results and the positive impact it’s had on our business!”
Luke and Jayden, Founders and Owners of Urban Joinery.

Social Media & PR for Fineline Market Research
Fineline Market Research – Organic Business Growth
Social media content and design for Fineline Market Research – A business providing full service market research to SME’s and large companies.
About Fineline Market Research – Fineline is a well-established market research agency established for 10 years, and throughout that time, they have enjoyed organic growth captured from their excellent reputation within the industry. Their proven track record has provided consistency with clients and staff members. They offer their clients expertise across a wide range of research methods, including customer experience, brand tracking, and consumer duty.
The company exceeds expectation with their service level and ability to deliver the results, reassurance and infrastructure to that of larger agencies. They pride themselves on being the market research agency that really cares and listens to your business problems and has a portfolio of clients who remain a constant within the business.
Raising the profile of an already successful business
Social Media Marketing & PR
Fineline Market Research founder Scott Hinton was looking to onboard a marketing agency to support the organic growth of the business. He was happy with the level of business and consistency they achieved year on year but recognised the need for the company to have an online presence and platform to share their wins and successes and raise the profile of the brand. Scott had the business in a healthy position that didn’t need a marketing plan to drive business it needed a marketing plan to support the business and showcase the value it brings to its customers.
What does the onboarding process involve?
Understanding the industry and the business
Similar to Fineline’s business values, we pride ourselves on caring and listening to each business we work alongside and getting to understand the pain points (if any) and the desired outcome. The first couple of months of working with a new client takes time to research competitors, talk to our client, and truly capture their tone of voice and offer a holistic approach to our outputs that reflects the business and puts them on a journey to raising their profile and achieving their business goals.
Creating the right content consistency
Consistency will always be the key to success in social media and many other marketing activities. We created a batch of content to reflect key elements of the business, the range of services and credibility. The content drives the graphic design to support the messages and reflects the branding.
We’ve combined social media activity with longer forms of content to support the activities of the business and create thought leadership articles to share on various platforms.
Social media scheduling and analytics
To onboard a client is to understand their audience and what resonates with their target audience to capture the most engagement. Each month, we will analyse the engagement and impact on website visitors. Content that creates the most attention is then captured again to produce a variation and continue to speak to its target audience.
Testimonial
We have definitely had enquires and picked up three new clients as a result of the PR stuff you are doing, one of them has resulted in a really large contract. I know it’s the PR stuff that has created this as all 3 contacted us having seen us on LinkedIn.
I am extremely pleased with the way this is going Caroline, its working by far more than I expected it to. From my perspective, I was hoping for it to raise awareness of Fineline, which would help me when contacting people, but it’s actually driving business to us.
Thanks so much for all of your work to date, its been superb!

Website Design For Edit Easy - Freelance Video Editing & Videography
Website Design For John At Edit Easy – A Business Providing Freelance video editing and visual content creation
About Edit Easy – Edit Easy launched in January 2021 after establishing an industry reputation for impeccable creativity, editing skills and animations that took businesses to another level.
Edit Easy offers a freelance solution for video editing and visual content creation from concepts, storyboards, direction, video editing and motion design.
The company works alongside businesses in a wide range of guises, from videoing still in particular, and offers the resource to edit video footage, perhaps captured in-house and transforming it into video content that works for the business on the platforms needed, from websites to social media feeds.
Founder John Starkie has been creating video and animation content for agencies for almost two decades and was a former head of video in two leading agencies before going freelance – he knows how it all works and can easily slot in as an extra helping hand when resources are low.
Edit Easy website design, build and launch – Having worked alongside John for over ten years, we liaised with him before launching his business to gather an understanding of his business and the type of work he would like to drive and capture.
Having spent years travelling and now with a young family, he desires to focus more on supporting local businesses with filming, content and editing and working with to support businesses with a desire to grow but not the in-house resources of a marketing agency and offering a solution to video content and creativity with expertise editing skills to bring footage to life and have it perform for a business.
With all his marketing agency experience, he also wanted to showcase how easy it is to work internally with marketing agencies in a non-traditional employment role and simply slot in with the team when resources are low.
What The Project Involved – A Website For Concepts, Storyboards, Direction, Video Editing & Motion Design
Build & Functionality – A priority was to provide John at Edit Easy with a website he could easily edit and maintain himself. The website’s content management system needed to be designed for flexibility and performance As a videographer, it was essential for John to have the capability to showcase and update his diverse range of work easily. Therefore, we ensured that uploading and maintaining his portfolio was simple.
Optimising The Website’s Speed & Performance – To enhance the website’s performance and effectively manage its extensive video content, we determined that self-hosting was not a feasible solution. Consequently, we chose to host all videos on Vimeo, integrating them seamlessly into the website through a simple embedding function. Furthermore, the website employs dynamic srcset Adaptive Images, incorporates a Content Delivery Network (CDN) service, and utilises an advanced caching system. These features significantly contribute to optimising the website’s overall page speed and reducing loading times, thereby delivering a greater user experience.
Video Footage – This part was easy peasy, or it was edit-easy. John knew the drill and supplied a range of showreels in the format needed for the website.
Content – Due to the business offering of Edit Easy, video content was the main focus of the website, with a portfolio page that elegantly showcased their entire body of work. The copy was crafted to be concise and impactful and presented in neat content blocks. A dark-themed website was specifically selected, not only to accentuate and frame the videos effectively but also to highlight distinct calls to action, illuminated by a branded accent colour.
Testimonials – as a new business start-up, it was essential to showcase the business’s credibility and have visitors understand the experience and portfolio of works created over the last two decades. We include a logo banner across the bottom of the website for various business types, from large blue-chip companies to local SMEs.
The Story of Edit Easy – John makes editing easy! Unless you are a professional actor, I think it’s safe to say that everyone feels a bit nervous when faced with a camera. John can make amateur footage come to life and perform for the purpose you created it for.
John also works with 3D images to hope businesses, perhaps with a new product launch, to bring the technical elements of products to life, a short yet concise video that just can’t happen over text.
He ignites companies’ desire to raise their profile and create video content that is engaging, relevant and designed to perform.
Our Experience – With our years of experience with website development, we can take a concept and vision from the passion of a solopreneur and transform it into an online showreel that drives business and the proper enquiries to you.

Case Study: Website Redesign for Church Side Insurance
Website Project Overview
Church Side Insurance is one of Mansfield’s family-run, independent insurance and protection specialists. They are a Partner Broker of Marsh Networks, one of the leading insurance brokers in the UK, specialising in all types of cover for all business types.
Church Side Insurance is all about offering a superior range of quality products and services to the local business community.
Opportunity
Running a business is consuming! When it’s our own business, we want to control everything and be able to do everything. But as the business grows, it becomes impossible to do everything and there comes a time to outsource elements of the business to keep moving forward.
Church Side Insurance needed a platform that reflected their modern services and above all, they needed an easy to use content management system to make the process of updating news and services quick and easy.
Solution
Church Side Insurance already had a fully functional WordPress website but without a modern, easy to use content management system. It was something that was on their ever growing ‘to do list’ and became very urgent whenever it was time to update something on the site and the realisation of it being an impossible task kicked in again.
We had previously spoken to Dean about his quick win options and explained he doesn’t need to invest in a completely new website nor did he need to risk the business having any online downtime during development. All his website needed was a redesign, revamp and clean up. Most importantly, he needed completely autonomy over the website so it could be easily updated and didn’t need to rely on a website developer for every updated needed.
Our solution: We installed a new customised theme, new content management system, tested and activated on their live site.
A new website doesn’t always involve starting entirely from scratch. WordPress has made it so easy to switch to a new theme without affecting your site’s content – so you don’t have to spend time debating on investing in a new website. A quick redesign could be a solution for you.
Before doing anything, we backed up all of Church Side’s files and WordPress database – just in case anything went wrong and we could revert to the original design and no information would be lost. When dealing with technology – anything can go wrong, it’s good practice to be prepared!
The backup process gives the opportunity to clean up the site, fix broken links and clear out old plugins. By optimising your database to clear out unused data, you also speed up your site. We then transferred all the website to a staging site to ensure the client is completely happy with the functionality and design of the website before we installed on the current platform. This process reduces downtime on the clients current website.
Next, we installed a new WordPress theme and redesigned to reflect their current branding and portfolio of services. The redesign is easy to use, and most importantly for Dean, it’s easy to keep up to date and grow with the companies’ portfolio of services.

Website Project Outcome
Church Side Insurance now have a business tool and platform they can proudly showcase to their customers – confident that it reflects their branding and takes the customer on a journey that will create an action. The content reflects their business story and now on a visual platform that impacts sales and conversions.
It’s always a real pleasure to work with Dean and his team.
Client Feedback:
We have known Caroline and her team for a long time and have always wanted to work with them. Earlier on in the year we eventually had a chance to sit down and work on a plan…and we are so glad that we did. Caroline has completely overhauled our website and the way that we think about all things marketing. Our Google position has increased massively and as a result, so has quality traffic and of course, new business sales.
We can’t wait for our next meeting to see what brilliant ideas she has in store for us!
